Topic: He Will Do What He Said
Verse: God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? – Numbers 23:19 (KJV)
When God speaks about a thing, the inclination of men sometimes is to doubt it. Take a look at scriptures. From Sarah to Gideon to Zachariah to Mary, people who heard God speak about the things He wanted to do for them or through them always doubted God’s ability to do it.
Others may not have doubted but grew weary waiting on the Word of God to come to pass.
This is where the problem lies. Because the devil knows unbelief and doubt can shake our faith and make God handicapped and so he infuses us with thoughts like “Will God do it?” “Has it not taken too long?” “Did my past sin not catch up with me?” and so on.
Our anchor scriptures lays all that to rest. It says God is not a man that He should lie. So, it means if God has spoken, His integrity is on it to perform and when God has said something, He is not going back about it.
See the testimony of Joshua in chapter 21 vs 45 – “There failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.”
There was nothing God said that He failed to accomplish in their lives.
Do not let the devil steal your joy or make you doubt God. Stand firm on the word of God. Isaiah 40:5 says “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
Prayer for the Day
Father, thank You for speaking to me about Your word today. Lord, I ask that you help my heart when I begin to doubt. Make me to be strong in faith, unmovable, and aligned to your Word today and always. Amen.
