Father, Your Word says in Psalm 119:133, “Direct my footsteps according to Your Word; let no sin rule over me.”
And so Lord, I come to You this morning asking that You direct my steps and that includes my choices and impulses and I ask that You align them with Your will.
Father, today, I do not trust in my wisdom. Lord, neither do I trust in my own strength.
I want to be led by You, to receive the kind of guidance that only comes when a man’s heart is surrendered to You.
Lord, You said in Isaiah 30:21 that when I turn to the right or to the left, I will hear a voice behind me saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Father, today, let that be my reality. Let Your Word speak loud to me even louder than my desire to go about my way.
Teach me to know that You are the one leading and help me to respond quickly and not stay on track when I begin to drift.
Your Word says in Psalm 19:8 that the commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
Open my eyes to see Your light and to walk in the path You have prepared for me.
When I feel overwhelmed, remind me to find comfort in Your Word. Keep me from temptations and may I have the right responses to evil today. I know that when I cling to Your commands, I will live according to Your Word in Proverbs 4:4.
Father, bless this day and help me to live in a way that gives you glory, Lord, in Jesus name. Amen.
