Brodrick’s Daily Devotional for Men February 3
TOPIC: The Responsibility of a Leader
Verse: But he who did not know and did things worthy of a beating shall be beaten with few [lashes]. For everyone to whom much is given, of him shall much be required; and of him to whom men entrust much, they will require and demand all the more. – Luke 12:48.
Brother, God has called you to be a leader. Whether in your home, workplace, or community, you have been given responsibility. Jesus reminds us in Luke 12:48 that “to whom much is given, much will be required.” This means leadership is not about power but about service. God expects you to lead with wisdom, humility, and love.
A true leader does not seek to be served but to serve. Look at Jesus—He led by example. He washed the feet of His disciples, He lifted the broken, and He stood firm in truth. If you have been given influence, use it to build others up. Your words and actions should reflect Christ’s leadership—strong, yet gentle; firm, yet compassionate.
Being a leader is not always easy. There will be days when the weight feels heavy, when you question if you are capable. But remember, God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called. Lean on Him for wisdom and strength. Stay rooted in prayer and seek His guidance in every decision.
Today, reflect on your leadership. Are you leading in a way that honors God? Are you using your influence to serve and uplift others? Leadership is a gift and a responsibility. Walk in it faithfully, knowing that God sees your efforts and will equip you for the task ahead.
