VERSE: Matthew 20:26-28 – “But whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Message:
True greatness in God’s kingdom is different from how the world defines greatness. In Matthew 20:26-28, Jesus flips our understanding of leadership upside down. He tells us that to be great, we must serve others. This is the heart of being a servant leader. It’s not about titles or positions, but about humbling ourselves to meet the needs of those around us.

A servant leader doesn’t seek recognition or fame. Instead, they are motivated by love and a desire to help others grow. Jesus, the greatest leader of all, showed us that true leadership comes when we choose to serve others without expecting anything in return. He came not to be served but to serve. By living this way, He set an example for us to follow.

In your life, whether in your family, work, or community, you can be a servant leader. Look for ways to serve others. Offer help without being asked, and seek to lift up those around you. The more you serve, the more you grow in leadership and influence, just as Jesus demonstrated. True leadership is in the quiet acts of service that go unnoticed by the world but are seen by God.

Prayers for Today

Lord, help me to lead by serving. Teach me to follow Jesus’ example and humble myself to help others. Give me the strength to put the needs of those around me before my own. May my leadership be rooted in love, compassion, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

Affirmations for Today

I am a servant leader, following the example of Jesus. I lead by serving those around me. I choose humility and compassion in all my actions. Every day, I grow in my ability to serve others and show love.
