Today’s Brodrick’s Devotional for Women is on “Forgiveness.” It shows women a greater purpose for forgiveness which is not even about letting people go from the prison you kept them or releasing yourself from something similar.

Brodrick’s Devotional for Women – February 4, 2025
Topic: Forgiveness
VERSE: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32
Message:
Forgiveness is one of the most powerful acts of grace you can offer someone, especially when they’ve wronged you. It’s hard, and sometimes it feels like you’re letting go of your right to be angry. But what if forgiveness isn’t about them at all? What if it’s about you finding peace, freeing yourself from the weight of bitterness and hurt?
In the Bible, we are told to forgive just as God forgives us. And He forgives us over and over again, no matter what. His forgiveness is unconditional. When we forgive others, we mirror that divine love. This doesn’t mean forgetting the wrong done to us or allowing people to walk over us. It means choosing not to let the hurt control us, choosing to let go of the anger and allowing God to heal our hearts.
Forgiveness is freeing. It sets us free from the chains of resentment and bitterness. The people who hurt you may never apologize or change, but your forgiveness is your choice and your strength. It’s not about what they deserve, but about what you deserve: peace, joy, and healing.
So today, if you are carrying a weight of unforgiveness, lay it down. Let it go, not for them, but for your own heart. God is ready to help you through this, to heal what’s broken, and to restore peace where there is hurt.
