Today’s Devotional for men is on Facing Doubts. Men are faced with a lot of challenges and adding doubt to that equation is too much to deal with already. This devotional message is aimed at helping men overcome self-doubt and any form of negative projections.

Bible Verse:
“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” — Mark 9:24 (NIV)
Doubt. It’s a word that we often avoid, especially as men. Society expects us to be strong, unwavering, and confident. Yet, if we’re honest, doubt can creep into our minds and hearts, especially in our faith. We wonder if God is really listening. We question if He can handle the struggles we face. We might even doubt our ability to be the man He has called us to be.
The man in Mark 9 knew what it felt like to wrestle with doubt. He had come to Jesus desperate for his son’s healing, but his faith wavered. His honest cry, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief,” wasn’t a declaration of perfect faith—it was a plea for help amidst his struggle. And Jesus, in His compassion, responded not to the man’s doubts but to his willingness to bring them to God.
That’s the key: bringing our doubts to God. Doubt is not the enemy of faith; it’s an opportunity to strengthen it. When we face moments of uncertainty, we have a choice: let those doubts drive us away from God, or let them draw us closer to Him. God isn’t intimidated by our questions or our struggles. He invites us to bring them to Him, trusting that He is bigger than our fears.
In my own life, I’ve faced seasons where doubt felt like a constant companion. There were times I questioned God’s plans, His timing, or even His presence. But in those moments, I learned that faith isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about trusting the One who does. Faith grows when we lean into God despite our doubts, seeking Him in prayer, immersing ourselves in His Word, and surrounding ourselves with a community of believers who can encourage us.
As men, it’s easy to want to fix everything on our own, but faith requires surrender. It means acknowledging that we don’t have all the answers and allowing God to work through our weaknesses. The beauty of God’s grace is that He meets us right where we are, doubts and all, and helps us take the next step forward.
If you’re struggling with doubt today, take heart. You’re not alone, and you’re not a failure for having questions. Bring your doubts to God, just as the man in Mark 9 did, and trust that He will meet you with His strength and peace.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being a God who is patient with my doubts and questions. Thank You for understanding my struggles and for meeting me where I am. Lord, I believe, but I ask for Your help in overcoming my unbelief. Strengthen my faith and remind me that You are always with me, even when I can’t see the way forward.
Help me to trust in Your plans and Your timing, knowing that Your ways are higher than mine. Teach me to surrender my fears and uncertainties to You and to rest in the assurance of Your love and faithfulness. Make me a man who leads with courage, humility, and unwavering trust in You.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
