Today’s devotional for men is about Leading by Example. True leadership is not about power but about serving with integrity and love. 1 Peter 5:2-3 reminds us that a godly leader is not driven by selfish ambition but by a heart willing to serve.

Brodrick’s Daily Devotional for Men February 2
TOPIC: Leading By Example
VERSE: Tend (nurture, guard, guide, and fold) the flock of God that is [your responsibility], not by coercion or constraint, but willingly; not dishonorably motivated by the advantages and profits [belonging to the office], but eagerly and cheerfully; Not domineering [as arrogant, dictatorial, and overbearing persons] over those in your charge, but being examples (patterns and models of Christian living) to the flock (the congregation).
Message:
God calls men to be leaders—not by force, but by example. True leadership is not about control or power; it is about serving, guiding, and influencing others through godly character. Whether you are leading in your home, workplace, or community, your actions speak louder than your words. People watch how you live more than they listen to what you say.
A godly leader does not lead for personal gain but out of love and responsibility. He is humble, patient, and strong—not in his own strength, but in the wisdom and grace of God. He does not demand respect; he earns it by living with integrity. He does not push others down to elevate himself; he lifts others up to see them succeed.
The world may define leadership as being the loudest, the toughest, or the most powerful. But Jesus showed us a different way. He led with love, compassion, and sacrifice. He put others before Himself, serving with a heart of humility. As a man of God, you are called to do the same. Your family, friends, and those around you need a leader who walks in faith, wisdom, and strength.
Today, ask yourself: What kind of leader am I? Am I setting an example that points others to Christ? Am I leading with love and integrity? Surrender your leadership to God, and let Him shape you into the man He has called you to be.
