Happy New Year! I pray that 2025 will be a year of blessings for you. God has great plans for your life. No matter what you went through last year, believe that God will help you this year.

The topic for today’s devotional is Focus on Jesus and it is something you might have heard before but then it is worth reminding us as the year 2025 begins.

There are a lot of things that are important for us to take over the year 2025 and among those things, in fact, what should be top on the list is focusing on God.

To focus on Jesus means to keep your heart and mind on Him. It means trusting Him with your life and following His example. Hebrews 12:1 tells us to run the race of life with our eyes fixed on Him. He is our guide and strength.

In the Bible, Moses lifted a bronze serpent on a pole to save the Israelites (Numbers 21:8-9). When they looked at it, they were healed. This points to Jesus. He died on the cross for us. When we look to Him, we receive salvation and help for daily life. Jesus is the answer to every problem.

So, how can we focus on Jesus?

There are a few steps that you can take to show and actually focus on Jesus. They include:

1. Pray every day. Start and end your day with prayer.
2. Read your Bible. Spend time reading God’s Word to know Him better.
3. Join a church. Worship with other Christians and learn about Jesus together.
4. Trust Him. When you face problems, tell Jesus and ask for His help.
5. Avoid distractions. Don’t let things like social media or worries take your focus away from Him.

This year, make Jesus the center of your life. Whatever happens, remember that He is in control. He loves you and wants the best for you. Keep your eyes on Him, and He will lead you through the year.

Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to You. I trust You with my heart, my plans, and my future. Help me to keep my focus on You every day. I declare that You are my Savior and my Lord. Amen.
