Today’s Jesus is Calling Devotional is on the topic “The Importance of Community” and it shows us why we need to surround ourselves and be involved in a Christian community.

Hebrews 10:24-25 – “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

God created us to live in community, not in isolation. Life becomes easier and more fulfilling when we share it with others. Community is where we find strength, encouragement, and the opportunity to grow in our faith together.

When we gather with others who love God, we remind each other of His promises and support one another through challenges. The Bible tells us not to give up meeting together because we are stronger when we encourage one another and share love and good deeds.

Sometimes it can be tempting to stay distant, especially when life feels overwhelming. But even in the messiness of relationships, God is present. He works through community to shape us, to teach us, and to bless us.

Take time today to reflect on the people God has placed in your life. Reach out to them, encourage them, and allow them to encourage you. Community is a gift, and through it, God shows us His love in deeper ways.

Prayer for Today

Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of community. Help me to see the people in my life as a blessing and to be a source of encouragement for them. Teach me to open my heart and share love with others, just as You have shown Your love to me. Amen.

Counsel

Don’t walk through life alone. Take a step toward building or strengthening your community today. Call a friend, join a group, or simply spend time with someone who needs encouragement. Together, we grow stronger in faith and love.
