Today’s Jesus is Calling Devotional for Today is on the message “Sharing Your Story” and it is aimed at helping us see how God takes us through certain experiences not for our sake but for the sake of other people.
We all have stories. Stories of struggles, breakthroughs, and everything in between. Sometimes, it may feel like our experiences are just things we go through, but they are far more important than that.
The Bible tells us in Revelation 12:11, “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”
This verse reminds us that our stories are powerful tools in the hands of God. They are not just for us; they are meant to teach others about God’s faithfulness and His power to save. Our experiences are the very means through which God can show His glory to others.
God can use our story to inspire worship in others. When we share how God has moved in our lives, we help others see the greatness of God. In Psalm 34:1, David says, “I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” When we testify of God’s goodness, we invite others to join in worship. They may see that if God could do it for us, He can do it for them too. Our testimony can be the spark that ignites someone else’s faith and leads them into a place of worship and gratitude toward God.
To be a vessel for God, we must yield ourselves completely to Him. It’s not about us—it’s about God using us as instruments of His will. In Romans 6:13, Paul writes, “Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.”
When we yield ourselves to God, He can use our lives to bless others. Sharing our story is not just about recounting events; it’s about allowing God to speak through us. We become vessels for His grace, mercy, and truth, helping others experience His love and power in their own lives.
There are many benefits to sharing our story. Not only do we help others, but we also experience healing and growth. In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, Paul writes, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
As we share what God has done for us, we are reminded of His goodness, and our faith grows stronger. We also help others find hope and healing. Sharing our story allows us to reflect on God’s faithfulness, while offering others a pathway to faith and peace in Him.
January 22 Prayers
- Lord, thank You for every experience in my life. I pray that You use my story to bring glory to Your name and to encourage those who need to hear about Your faithfulness. May my words reflect Your power and love.
- Father, help me to be bold in sharing my testimony. Give me the courage to speak about the great things You have done in my life, and may my story inspire others to worship and trust You. Let my words point others toward Your grace.
- God, I yield myself to You today. Use me as a vessel to help others through the story of Your faithfulness in my life. I surrender my experiences to You, trusting that You will use them for Your glory and to help others know You better.
- Thank You, Lord, for the opportunity to share what You have done for me. I pray that as I speak, others will be encouraged and reminded of Your love and power. Help me continue to grow in my trust and understanding of You as I share my story.
Affirmation for January 22, 2025
Today, I embrace the power of my story. I believe that God can use every experience in my life to help others. I am a vessel for His love and His truth, and I trust that my testimony will inspire others to worship Him. I yield myself to God’s will, knowing that He will use my story for His glory and to bring others closer to Him. I am not afraid to share what God has done for me, for I know that my words will touch lives and bring hope.
