Even when you feel forgotten or far from His promises, God’s hand is still on you. This devotional reminds us that silence is not abandonment—God is still writing your story.
Brodrick Devotional for Today – June 10
Topic: God’s Hand Is Still on You
Scripture Focus: “Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” – Isaiah 49:16
Devotional Message
There are days when life becomes heavy, and the promises of God feel distant—like echoes from another world. It is in these moments that the enemy whispers his lies: “God has left you.” But Isaiah 49:16 is God’s bold, personal rebuttal: “I have engraved you on the palms of My hands.” Engraved—not written with ink that can fade, but engraved, carved into His very being. That is permanence. That is covenant.
When we talk about God’s hand, we are talking about His power, His involvement, His sovereignty. To be engraved in His hand means we are always on His mind and within His reach. Life might not look like what you prayed for. You may feel as though your prayers are hanging in silence, your faith is growing thin, and your strength is nearly gone. But God is not absent. He is not late. He is working beneath the surface, and He’s holding you through it all.
Remember Joseph? He was sold by his brothers, falsely accused, and imprisoned for years. Every turn of his story could have convinced him he was abandoned. But every painful turn was actually a part of the divine blueprint. God didn’t forget Joseph in the pit or in the prison. In fact, those moments were the molding ground for his promotion. When the time was right, Joseph was lifted. Not just lifted—but placed in a position where he could save lives, including the very family that betrayed him.
If you’re reading this today and feeling like you’ve been shelved or set aside, I want you to hold on to a holy truth: God’s delays are never denials. The walls you think are closing in are actually the walls that God sees constantly. Isaiah says, “Your walls are continually before Me.” God watches over what concerns you. He has not turned His face away. He is still writing, still weaving, still moving things in your favor—even when your eyes can’t see it.
You might not understand why things are happening the way they are, but you can trust who is holding you. And that’s more important than knowing every detail. If you knew the whole plan, you wouldn’t need to trust. But faith shines brightest in the dark. And you are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. You are engraved.
Prayer for the Day
Heavenly Father, thank You that even when life feels silent or uncertain, Your hand is still on me. Thank You that I am not forgotten. When I feel lost, remind me that I am engraved in Your palm, close to Your heart, and never beyond Your reach. Help me to trust You even when I cannot trace You. Give me peace while I wait. In Jesus’ name, amen.
