Topic: We Are Here on Assignment
John 17:18 — “As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.”
You did not appear on the earth by chance. God had a purpose, He has a reason for keeping you on the earth for this long.
The reason you are alive today and reading this is because you have got an assignment from God, a divine assignment from the Lord.
From our anchor scripture, we can see that when Jesus was praying He made reference to the reason why He came.
He spoke about being sent. He knew He was not here to blend in or to coast through life aimlessly. And in the same breath, He said, “I have sent them…” — that includes you.
The world is designed to force us into living for ourselves. We live to chase money, to chase comfort, to chase relevance and all that.
But you see, God sees differently.
He sent you to your family, to your generation, to your city with a specific purpose in mind. That assignment is ultimately to be a representative of God on the earth.
That means in everything you do, absolutely everything that you do, everyone must see God and glorify Him.
That is what Matthew 5:16 says:
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.
You are not here to amass all the wealth in the world. You are a child of God – a messenger and a representative.
Today and always, go about your life with the consciousness that you are on an assignment, one given to you by God.
Prayer for the Day
Lord, thank You for reminding me that I was sent here with purpose.
Help me not to live like someone who is just passing time or chasing comfort.
Show me what my assignment is — in my family, in my work, in my generation.
Help me to live with intention, to speak with conviction, and to walk with courage.
I declare that I am not here by accident.
I am here by Your design, for Your purpose, and I will not waste the time You’ve given me.
Use me, Lord. I am ready for the assignment. In Jesus’ name, amen.
