Truly, we can go through situations today that makes us feel like God is not watching. He cannot be in heaven, looking at me, and see me go through this suffering.
When we get to this point, there is this subtle temptation and the deceit of the devil to make us believe that we are not seen by God, or loved by God, or that we have been forsaking.
The devil’s end goal with this is a range of things:
- to make you begin to doubt the promises of God
- to bring your heart to the point where you cannot receive from God
- to blur your vision and make you focus on the present instead of the future God has planned for you
Just like Hagar, you will be surprised that God sees you. Yesterday, I was praying and as I prayed I was asking God for mercy and then I stopped midpoint and asked myself do I even deserve mercy. Then the Spirit of God whispered to me, “It is in the moment when you think you do not deserve mercy that you qualify for mercy.”
That hit me. I was praying for mercy believing that God should show me mercy because I deserve mercy but you see, God does not show us mercy because we deserve it – He shows us mercy when we are not deserving. That is what makes mercy powerful. Mercy qualifies the unqualified otherwise people like the woman with the Alabaster box, Mary Magdalene, Zacchaeus, and the woman with the issue of blood would have not enjoyed what they enjoyed from Jesus.
Like our anchor verse for today says, God sees your path, He is aware of where you and all your ways. Do not for any second think that God has abandoned you. His promise is:
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. – Isaiah 43:2
He has promised that He is always going to be with you. So He sees you. And because He sees you, you can be sure of these many things:
- All things will work together for your good (Romans 8:28)
- The situations you are going through will not consume you (Isaiah 43:2)
- Your prayers will be answered (Isaiah 65:24)
- He is working behind the scene to give you victory (Isaiah 43:19)
- He will give you peace (Jeremiah 29:11)
And there is more. Do not fret, do not be moved, because God sees you and I believe today, He will show Himself mighty in Your life.
